We’ve fielded some questions about bats for the fall season.
As many of you are aware, Little League is adopting the new USA baseball bat standard beginning January 1, 2018. You can review this new policy here:
What does this mean for the fall 2017 season?
Your player can still use a currently-approved Little League bat for the fall 2017 season, i.e. they can use their Little League bat from the spring 2017 season. However, come January 1, all of those bats will become illegal and will need to be replaced with a new Little League-approved bat that adheres to the new USA baseball bat standard.
If you have already purchased one of the new approved bats, your player may use this for the fall season and beyond.
If you have not, we suggest you hold off and take advantage of some of the coming bat demos where your player can sample different bats.
The first of these will be next Monday 9/18 at DBAT (located at 2250 Chipley Circle) from 5:30-8:30 pm. They will have a variety of different models available for your player to try.
Additionally, we are planning a couple of live bat demos at our fields this fall. Please stay tuned for more details.
